Governance reform efforts in the past were futile and turned out to be motionless and counter-productive because of weak commitments from all sectors of society in the issue of reform. Due to a lack of political commitment and pervasive corruption, the reform agenda has always been overshadowed has never gained momentum. The nation has lagged far behind in governance, integrity, accountability, and transparency in relation to other developed nations. Several resources and reports show the considerable evidences of corruption and irregularities in projects and the procurement process that impedes the development activities.
Therefore, it is very urgent to initiate collective efforts for governance reform, a national integrity system, accountability, transparency and the rule of law in Nepal. With aim to reform these national issues and urgent needs, Reform Forum was established.
