Institutional Strategies
Reform Forum has set principal institutional strategies of its own for governance reform, building a national integrity system, and corruption control to accomplish its set goals.
Study and Research:Studies and research to be carried out by us will serve as icebreakers and a lesson in the process of governance system reform. Our research into corruption cases, misuse, and irregularities in government and non-government institutions will play a vital role in exposing corruption in its various manifestations. Our work will provide government and non-governmental organizations viable information for reform practices. Our research and investigative studies in this sector will also support the reform movement in Nepal and the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), a national watchdog agency for corruption control and good governance and similar other institutions working in this sector.
Monitoring and Inspection:
Reform Forum will monitor, gauge and define the levels of existing issues in the governance system, service delivery, corruption, and public awareness, based on available facts and figures. Monitoring programs will be supported by publications and dissemination of the findings on these issues. Based on these monitoring programs findings and outcomes, Reform Forum will, if necessary, revise existing programs, or will initiate new activities for reform initiatives.
Advocacy: Advocacy is an effective tool for civil society and social organizations to voice their concerns about and for reform. We advocate for governance reform and against the existing culture of corruption by using best practices and resources at our disposal as the instruments of our campaigns. Primarily, broadcasting, publication, lobbying, discussion, interaction, workshops, and seminars will be used as the tools of advocacy. Findings of our research will be made public through magazines, newspapers, journals, books and documentaries. All advocacy records will be well documented for further reference as well. We will continue our monitoring and advocacy efforts until the desired results are achieved.
Constitutional Remedy: Reform Forum will seek judicial and constitutional remedy in difficult cases that are not possible to address from private or civil society sector. Cases related to issues such as governance reform, good governance, integrity system will be spoken out and try to bring attention through the constitutional remedy. Petition will be filed in a court of law where government or government personal is found to be curtailing accountable and transparent practices.
Training and Skill Development: The Reform Forum will facilitate and conduct different trainings and skill development programs for the government employees for efficient and effective service delivery. Based on need assessment mutual workshop, training and skill development program will be conducted among the government institution, civil society members, and stakeholders.
Coalition/Alliance and Networking: The Reform Forum will build a wide network for coalitions and alliances based on common consensus to work for governance reform. A network of similar organizations and individuals working in common issues will be formed for effective voice.
